One overarching goal of the YEP Lab is to train the next generation of physiologists and ecologists. Whether teaching in the classroom, laboratory, or field, Dr. Youngblood believes that students learn best when they are working together to solve real-world problems. By collaborating with education researchers, Dr. Youngblood designs, implements, and evaluates in-class activities that encourage higher-order thinking about the Core Concepts of Biology.
